Lockmates

Terms of use

Effective date: October 3, 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and 1901 Technologies Inc. ("we"), 1025 King St E, Unit 107 #1771, Cambridge, ON N3H 3P5, Canada, about the Lockmates game and website.

1. Who can play

You must be at least 13, or at least 16 in the European Union, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. Lockmates is not available in Quebec yet. During the invite-only beta, you need an invite or a place from the waitlist to create an account; guests can still play in a member's room by link.

2. Your account

Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for what happens on your account. Your player name is generated by us; we may replace it if it's reported or causes problems. You can download your data and delete your account at any time from the Me screen.

3. Playing fair and being kind

Follow the Code of conduct. In short: no harassment, no cheating or automated play, no exploiting bugs, no impersonation, no trying to get other players' clues. We may warn, suspend or ban accounts that break the rules, and remove results from leaderboards. You can appeal by emailing appeals@playlockmates.com.

4. Invites

Members get a small number of invites. Invites are personal; selling or trading them isn't allowed.

5. Purchases

This section applies once purchases are available. Prices are shown with all mandatory fees. Subscriptions say clearly beside the button that they renew, how often, the price, and how to cancel, and you can cancel online at any time. Purchases never improve your rank. Virtual items and coins have no cash value and can't be exchanged for money. Refunds follow the law where you live and, in the apps, the app store's rules.

6. Things you create

This section applies once players can make and share rooms. You keep your rights, give us a licence to host and show them in Lockmates, and must not upload anything you don't have the right to. We will name our designated agent for copyright complaints here before that feature opens.

7. Our rights

The game, its art, sounds, puzzles and code belong to us or our licensors. Don't copy, resell or reverse engineer them, except where the law allows.

8. The beta

The beta is a test. Things may change, break or be reset (for example progress or leaderboards) while we fix problems. We'll tell players before a reset when we can.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The game is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months (or CAD $50 if you paid nothing). Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.

10. Ending

You can stop playing and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend access for breaking these terms, or end the service with reasonable notice.

11. Law

Ontario law and the federal laws of Canada apply, unless the consumer law where you live says otherwise.

12. Changes and contact

We'll update the effective date and tell players in the game before important changes apply. Questions: support@playlockmates.com.
